Can You Confidently Say that God is Your True Fulfillment?
Evangelist, Priscilla Shirer, says that the presence of God has been so lavishly given to us, we end up taking it for granted. We see a church at every corner, we have sermons at our fingertips, and the Bible is accessible everywhere we go. Therefore, when we encounter even a hint of disappointment, we doubt God’s faithfulness.
We are too blessed for our own good.
Shirer says that we don’t know what it’s like to experience God’s presence because we are distracted by self-fulfillment. We are accustomed to our comfort, our desires, and our entertainment. Therefore, when life gets hard, we do not fully trust in God’s plan because we are too focused on our wants.
We have become a “self-centered” generation.
However, God never stops pursuing us, and He wants us to fully encounter His presence. We need to stop being self-centered and start being God centered. We need to stop being self-fulfilled and start being Spirit filled. If we trust God as our source, satisfaction, and strength, we will prevail through every obstacle. We need to let go of the distractions that surround us and allow Him to fully take control.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Isaiah 40:29 (NIV)
God is waiting for us to experience true fulfillment. Will you allow Him in?
