LOS ANGELES, May 19, 2021 — TBN has announced the addition to its broadcast staff of veteran journalist and investigative reporter , former director of Christians United for Israel’s Watchman Project and host of the TBN program The Watchman With Erick Stakelbeck. The addition of Stakelbeck is part of TBN’s move to expand its news division and provide up-to-date content on news and current events to viewers around the world. Stakelbeck’s first two TBN news specials, Israel Under Fire and The Rise of Cancel Culture, air in May.
“After five incredible years of working alongside TBN on The Watchman show and seeing the growth of the network and the vision of Matt and Laurie firsthand, I knew it was time to join the TBN family, full-time,” said Stakelbeck. “With America and the world experiencing unprecedented challenges, TBN is uniquely positioned to provide news programming from a biblical perspective for the tens of millions of viewers who are hungry for information and perspective that will help them make sense of the challenging times in which we are living. I’m honored to help lead the charge on this exciting new venture.”
In his first TBN special, Israel Under Fire, Stakelbeck offers viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the current crisis unfolding in the Middle East as Israel defends itself from new terror threats. U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, New York Times bestselling author Joel Rosenberg, and three former Israeli Ambassadors to the U.S. all join Stakelbeck to give their unique perspectives on the geopolitical situation.
And in The Rise of Cancel Culture, Stakelbeck examines modern-day efforts to censor the speech of Americans everywhere. Joined by Dr. Ben Carson, Dennis Prager, Phil Robertson, and Kevin and Sam Sorbo, Stakelbeck breaks down how this new risk against free speech threatens Christians and how believers should be preparing themselves for growing secular hostility to people of faith.
