It all began forty-one years ago as Christian broadcast pioneers Paul and Jan Crouch flipped the switch on May 28, 1973, launching the Trinity Broadcasting Network with one part-time, low-power station in Southern California. Al Horreya TV, Trinity Broadcasting Network's Arabic language faith channel, continues to take hope and healing to viewers across Egypt, the Middle East, and around the world. Less than a year ago, as the people of Egypt suffered under intense political and civil unrest, with whole neighborhoods destroyed and over one hundred churches damaged or burned to the ground, Al Horreya offered a message of God's mercy and forgiveness to millions of Egyptians who had lost all hope for the future. That message continues today through the music, talk, ministry, preaching, and other programming being sent out 24 hours a day from Al Horreya's newly launched studios in Southern California.

How does a small, low-power TV station in Southern California grow into the largest faith-and-family broadcaster in the world? It happens step by step, with faith, perseverance, and strategic partnership. Matthew Crouch, Vice President of global religious television leader Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), recalled that when his parents, Paul and Jan Crouch, launched TBN in 1973, they had little idea the worldwide impact their efforts would one day have. “All they knew was that God had called them to build a Christian television outreach, and as He opened doors they launched miracles stations, first across America, and then overseas.”

Forty years ago broadcast pioneer Paul Crouch blazed an innovative trail across the television landscape when he began forging relationships with pastors and Christian leaders, inviting them to air their worship services and ministry programming on his newly launched Trinity Broadcasting Network. Dr. Crouch's vision was to partner with churches and the Christian community to develop a nationwide — and ultimately international — television network broadcasting what Dr. Crouch termed “100 percent Christian” programming.
