  • but I'm going to actually show you the scripture.
  • 00:00:03.120 --> 00:00:05.040
  • Hell was not created for you.
  • 00:00:05.070 --> 00:00:06.290
  • Why I showed you the scripture of Isaiah 5 that shows us
  • 00:00:07.020 --> 00:00:09.180
  • that because man decided to follow Satan.
  • 00:00:09.210 --> 00:00:12.170
  • Hell had to be enlarged.
  • 00:00:12.200 --> 00:00:14.040
  • 00:00:14.070 --> 00:00:28.160
  • PASTOR ROBERT: The first week, I talked about a tough question.
  • 00:00:28.190 --> 00:00:31.070
  • The second week, some easy questions.
  • 00:00:31.100 --> 00:00:33.120
  • If you haven't heard those, go back and listen
  • 00:00:33.150 --> 00:00:35.080
  • or get the CD's.
  • 00:00:35.110 --> 00:00:37.000
  • This week I'm calling it, "A Tough Message."
  • 00:00:37.030 --> 00:00:40.140
  • Because I'm going to talk to you about Hell and it's a tough
  • 00:00:40.170 --> 00:00:43.130
  • message for me to talk about.
  • 00:00:43.160 --> 00:00:47.090
  • I believe it was also a tough message for Jesus.
  • 00:00:47.120 --> 00:00:50.150
  • But Jesus did preach about Hell.
  • 00:00:50.180 --> 00:00:52.200
  • Jesus actually preached about Hell 33 times.
  • 00:00:52.230 --> 00:00:56.090
  • He talked more about Hell then He did about Heaven.
  • 00:00:56.120 --> 00:00:58.190
  • That's pretty amazing.
  • 00:00:58.220 --> 00:01:00.070
  • And I believe He did because He didn't want anyone to go.
  • 00:01:00.100 --> 00:01:03.170
  • So, think about this, He had a three-year ministry and He
  • 00:01:03.200 --> 00:01:07.000
  • preached on Hell 33 times.
  • 00:01:07.030 --> 00:01:09.050
  • So, almost once a month He would bring a message on Hell.
  • 00:01:09.080 --> 00:01:14.110
  • You might not have wanted to attend His church because you
  • 00:01:14.140 --> 00:01:18.290
  • have heard so much.
  • 00:01:19.020 --> 00:01:20.000
  • But why did he did it -- why he do that?
  • 00:01:20.030 --> 00:01:21.240
  • He had to just been filled with compassion to keep people
  • 00:01:21.270 --> 00:01:27.030
  • from going to this difficult place.
  • 00:01:27.060 --> 00:01:29.150
  • The Bible talks about Hell 167 times, 167 times.
  • 00:01:29.180 --> 00:01:35.180
  • Yet, many Theologians, many Pastors, many denominations
  • 00:01:35.210 --> 00:01:40.120
  • are distancing themselves from Hell today and even denying
  • 00:01:40.150 --> 00:01:44.100
  • the existence of it.
  • 00:01:44.130 --> 00:01:45.230
  • And in a recent survey many people said they do not believe
  • 00:01:45.260 --> 00:01:49.190
  • in a literal Hell.
  • 00:01:49.220 --> 00:01:51.100
  • As a matter of fact, in a survey I read 35% of Baptist,
  • 00:01:51.130 --> 00:01:56.080
  • 54% of Presbyterians, 58% of Methodist,
  • 00:01:56.110 --> 00:02:00.210
  • and 60% of Episcopalians do not believe
  • 00:02:00.240 --> 00:02:05.000
  • in a literal Hell.
  • 00:02:05.030 --> 00:02:06.080
  • But the Bible talks about it 167 times and Jesus preached
  • 00:02:06.110 --> 00:02:11.120
  • 33 messages on Hell that we know of.
  • 00:02:11.150 --> 00:02:14.030
  • That we have recorded in scripture, maybe more.
  • 00:02:14.060 --> 00:02:16.150
  • In my opinion, to deny the existence of Hell is to deny
  • 00:02:16.180 --> 00:02:20.080
  • Jesus Christ and to deny the Bible because Jesus told
  • 00:02:20.110 --> 00:02:25.020
  • us about this.
  • 00:02:25.050 --> 00:02:26.230
  • There are four groups -- just to give you a little --
  • 00:02:26.260 --> 00:02:28.230
  • before we go to Luke 16.
  • 00:02:28.260 --> 00:02:30.060
  • Four groups of people if you deny the existence of Hell
  • 00:02:30.090 --> 00:02:32.260
  • you fall into one of these four groups.
  • 00:02:32.290 --> 00:02:34.230
  • The first group are Atheist.
  • 00:02:34.260 --> 00:02:36.230
  • Atheist do not believe in Hell because they do not
  • 00:02:36.260 --> 00:02:38.290
  • believe in God.
  • 00:02:39.020 --> 00:02:40.060
  • They believe that we evolve from nothing and that once
  • 00:02:40.090 --> 00:02:43.150
  • we die we cease to exist.
  • 00:02:43.180 --> 00:02:45.180
  • Now I want to make a statement here this might
  • 00:02:45.210 --> 00:02:47.190
  • shock you.
  • 00:02:47.220 --> 00:02:48.190
  • Atheist don't believe in God.
  • 00:02:48.220 --> 00:02:50.080
  • I don't believe in Atheist.
  • 00:02:50.110 --> 00:02:54.180
  • I actually believe that it's scientifically impossible
  • 00:02:54.210 --> 00:02:57.030
  • to be an Atheist.
  • 00:02:57.060 --> 00:02:58.090
  • Atheist make the statement, "There is no God."
  • 00:02:58.120 --> 00:03:01.020
  • And the reason it's scientifically impossible
  • 00:03:01.050 --> 00:03:03.000
  • to be an Atheist is because in order to make the statement,
  • 00:03:03.030 --> 00:03:05.120
  • "There is no God," you would have to possess all knowledge.
  • 00:03:05.150 --> 00:03:09.290
  • You have to know everything to be able to say emphatically,
  • 00:03:10.020 --> 00:03:12.040
  • "There is no God."
  • 00:03:12.070 --> 00:03:13.180
  • And scientist tell us the smartest human being
  • 00:03:13.210 --> 00:03:17.080
  • probably possesses 2% of all knowledge.
  • 00:03:17.110 --> 00:03:20.190
  • So, you really can't be an Atheist,
  • 00:03:20.220 --> 00:03:22.070
  • but you can be an Agnostic.
  • 00:03:22.100 --> 00:03:23.260
  • So that an Atheist and Agnostics don't believe in Hell.
  • 00:03:23.290 --> 00:03:28.140
  • Here's the second group, Annihilationist,
  • 00:03:28.170 --> 00:03:31.090
  • don't believe in Hell.
  • 00:03:31.120 --> 00:03:32.190
  • Now here's what they believe.
  • 00:03:32.220 --> 00:03:34.000
  • They believe that believers go to Heaven, but unbelievers
  • 00:03:34.030 --> 00:03:36.010
  • are annihilated.
  • 00:03:36.040 --> 00:03:37.280
  • And some even believe that they are annihilated in Hell.
  • 00:03:38.010 --> 00:03:40.030
  • They use Matthew 10:28 which says, "Fear him who can destroy
  • 00:03:40.060 --> 00:03:43.160
  • both body and soul in Hell."
  • 00:03:43.190 --> 00:03:45.250
  • Destroy they use the word, "Destroy," for their
  • 00:03:45.280 --> 00:03:47.290
  • annihilationist theory.
  • 00:03:48.020 --> 00:03:50.140
  • Now let me tell you why that's wrong.
  • 00:03:50.170 --> 00:03:52.080
  • You can't take your interpretation of one verse
  • 00:03:52.110 --> 00:03:55.290
  • and build a doctrine on it.
  • 00:03:56.020 --> 00:03:57.250
  • You have to take the whole scripture and the whole
  • 00:03:57.280 --> 00:03:59.220
  • scripture teaches us of Hell.
  • 00:03:59.250 --> 00:04:01.260
  • So, annihilationist would not be a scriptural
  • 00:04:01.290 --> 00:04:04.030
  • viewpoint either.
  • 00:04:04.060 --> 00:04:05.160
  • The other group that -- the third group
  • 00:04:05.190 --> 00:04:08.170
  • are ultimate reconciliationist.
  • 00:04:08.200 --> 00:04:11.140
  • Ultimate reconciliationist believe that ultimately
  • 00:04:11.170 --> 00:04:15.180
  • everyone will be reconciled to God.
  • 00:04:15.210 --> 00:04:17.140
  • That people do go to Hell, but they only go to Hell
  • 00:04:17.170 --> 00:04:20.190
  • dependent upon how bad they were on Earth.
  • 00:04:20.220 --> 00:04:23.050
  • In other words, if you were very bad you would spend
  • 00:04:23.080 --> 00:04:24.240
  • more time.
  • 00:04:24.270 --> 00:04:25.250
  • That Hell is a purifying place that purifies us
  • 00:04:25.280 --> 00:04:29.190
  • in to be able to go to Heaven.
  • 00:04:29.220 --> 00:04:30.230
  • They actually believe that Satan would ultimately
  • 00:04:30.260 --> 00:04:33.260
  • be reconciled to God.
  • 00:04:33.290 --> 00:04:36.060
  • And then the fourth group are Universalists.
  • 00:04:36.090 --> 00:04:39.080
  • They're actually many popular preachers today
  • 00:04:39.110 --> 00:04:42.260
  • that are becoming Universalists because they are misunderstand,
  • 00:04:42.290 --> 00:04:46.230
  • and they've taken that twisted question that I answered first,
  • 00:04:46.260 --> 00:04:49.040
  • "How could a loving God send someone to Hell?"
  • 00:04:49.070 --> 00:04:51.140
  • And I've already answered that question.
  • 00:04:51.170 --> 00:04:53.140
  • But they take that and say, "Because of that when Jesus
  • 00:04:53.170 --> 00:04:56.120
  • died on the cross He paid the price for everyone's sin," --
  • 00:04:56.150 --> 00:04:59.060
  • which He did, "but you still have a choice."
  • 00:04:59.090 --> 00:05:01.150
  • They take free will completely out of the equation
  • 00:05:01.180 --> 00:05:03.190
  • and everyone is going to go to Heaven.
  • 00:05:03.220 --> 00:05:06.030
  • Adolf Hitler will go to Heaven.
  • 00:05:06.060 --> 00:05:09.060
  • The terrorists will go to Heaven.
  • 00:05:09.090 --> 00:05:10.220
  • As a matter of fact, if you take Universalism to its
  • 00:05:10.250 --> 00:05:12.280
  • 'nth degree here's an analogy about that.
  • 00:05:13.010 --> 00:05:17.130
  • The terrorist of 9/11 when they hit those buildings
  • 00:05:17.160 --> 00:05:21.160
  • the believers on the plane and terrorists were immediately
  • 00:05:21.190 --> 00:05:23.280
  • in the presence of God.
  • 00:05:24.010 --> 00:05:25.140
  • That's what Universalism say.
  • 00:05:25.170 --> 00:05:27.040
  • And, you know, I think that's foolishness.
  • 00:05:27.070 --> 00:05:29.250
  • So, Luke 16 Jesus tells us about Hell.
  • 00:05:29.280 --> 00:05:32.220
  • I need to tell you something about this passage
  • 00:05:32.250 --> 00:05:34.180
  • before we read it.
  • 00:05:34.210 --> 00:05:35.290
  • And that is many people don't understand this,
  • 00:05:36.020 --> 00:05:37.200
  • this is a true story.
  • 00:05:37.230 --> 00:05:39.150
  • This is true what Jesus tell us.
  • 00:05:39.180 --> 00:05:41.020
  • Here are some reasons why.
  • 00:05:41.050 --> 00:05:42.260
  • It doesn't say -- and He spoke this parable to them.
  • 00:05:42.290 --> 00:05:45.250
  • And Luke 16 talks about different parables and even
  • 00:05:45.280 --> 00:05:51.240
  • has a parable at the beginning of the chapter.
  • 00:05:51.270 --> 00:05:54.060
  • But by the time you get here it's not a parable
  • 00:05:54.090 --> 00:05:56.000
  • 'cause it does not -- that he spoke this parable.
  • 00:05:56.030 --> 00:05:58.050
  • Also, it's not a simile that Jesus isn't saying,
  • 00:05:58.080 --> 00:06:02.100
  • "It is like, it is like, it is like." He is telling us a true
  • 00:06:02.130 --> 00:06:05.150
  • story and we know it's true because of a couple of things.
  • 00:06:05.180 --> 00:06:08.230
  • And first of all, he says, "There was a certain rich man."
  • 00:06:08.260 --> 00:06:11.250
  • This word "Certain" means individual or specific.
  • 00:06:11.280 --> 00:06:15.240
  • There was an individual, specific, rich man I'm telling
  • 00:06:15.270 --> 00:06:18.180
  • you about right now.
  • 00:06:18.210 --> 00:06:19.250
  • And then He says, "There was a certain beggar," --
  • 00:06:19.280 --> 00:06:21.270
  • now listen to what He says, "Named Lazarus."
  • 00:06:22.000 --> 00:06:27.000
  • Okay, Jesus wouldn't have made up a name.
  • 00:06:27.030 --> 00:06:28.230
  • Now let me explain one other thing two because I got some
  • 00:06:28.260 --> 00:06:31.020
  • questions last night afterwards.
  • 00:06:31.050 --> 00:06:32.240
  • This is not the same Lazarus that he raised from the dead.
  • 00:06:32.270 --> 00:06:35.080
  • Okay?
  • 00:06:35.110 --> 00:06:36.190
  • It's a common name, like, John, but it's not the same person.
  • 00:06:36.220 --> 00:06:39.080
  • Okay?
  • 00:06:39.110 --> 00:06:40.000
  • So, this is another person.
  • 00:06:40.030 --> 00:06:41.090
  • All right let's read the story.
  • 00:06:41.120 --> 00:06:42.240
  • Luke 16:19: "There was certain rich man who was clothed
  • 00:06:42.270 --> 00:06:48.190
  • in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day.
  • 00:06:48.220 --> 00:06:53.230
  • But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus full
  • 00:06:53.260 --> 00:06:59.010
  • of sores who was laid at his gate.
  • 00:06:59.040 --> 00:07:01.280
  • Desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from
  • 00:07:02.010 --> 00:07:04.150
  • the rich man's table.
  • 00:07:04.180 --> 00:07:06.010
  • Moreover, the dogs came and licked his sores.
  • 00:07:06.040 --> 00:07:08.220
  • And so, it was that the beggar died and was carried
  • 00:07:08.250 --> 00:07:11.170
  • by the angels," now watch this carefully.
  • 00:07:11.200 --> 00:07:13.250
  • This is Jesus talking, "to Abraham's bosom."
  • 00:07:13.280 --> 00:07:17.020
  • okay let's talk just for a moment.
  • 00:07:17.050 --> 00:07:18.220
  • Was Abraham a real person?
  • 00:07:18.250 --> 00:07:21.050
  • Okay, he's talking about real people.
  • 00:07:21.080 --> 00:07:22.290
  • "The rich man also died and was buried and being
  • 00:07:23.020 --> 00:07:26.070
  • in torment," I want you to remember the word, "Torment"
  • 00:07:26.100 --> 00:07:30.070
  • because a variation of that word is in this passage
  • 00:07:30.100 --> 00:07:33.040
  • four times.
  • 00:07:33.070 --> 00:07:34.080
  • That's -- this is the first reference, okay.
  • 00:07:34.110 --> 00:07:35.260
  • "Being in torment in Hades," and Hades is the Greek word
  • 00:07:35.290 --> 00:07:39.220
  • for Hell.
  • 00:07:39.250 --> 00:07:40.270
  • Okay, so this is Hell.
  • 00:07:41.000 --> 00:07:42.030
  • They just used the Greek word there.
  • 00:07:42.060 --> 00:07:43.260
  • "He lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham," a real person,
  • 00:07:43.290 --> 00:07:47.200
  • afar off, "and Lazarus," a real person,
  • 00:07:47.230 --> 00:07:50.210
  • "in his bosom.
  • 00:07:50.240 --> 00:07:52.000
  • Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham have mercy
  • 00:07:52.030 --> 00:07:54.050
  • on me and send Lazarus that he may get the tip of his finger
  • 00:07:54.080 --> 00:07:57.210
  • in water and cool my tongue for I am tormented.'"
  • 00:07:57.240 --> 00:08:01.030
  • there's the second time we see a variation of that word,
  • 00:08:01.060 --> 00:08:03.120
  • "in this flame." remember the word "Flame"
  • 00:08:03.150 --> 00:08:06.170
  • this is Jesus talking now.
  • 00:08:06.200 --> 00:08:08.010
  • He describes Hell as a place of torment and flame.
  • 00:08:08.040 --> 00:08:11.100
  • "But Abraham said, 'Son remember that in your lifetime
  • 00:08:11.130 --> 00:08:14.080
  • you received good things and likewise Lazarus evil things,
  • 00:08:14.110 --> 00:08:17.140
  • but now he is comforted, and you are tormented,"
  • 00:08:17.170 --> 00:08:21.260
  • third time we see the variation of that word.
  • 00:08:21.290 --> 00:08:24.240
  • And besides all this between us and you there's a great
  • 00:08:24.270 --> 00:08:27.110
  • gulf fixed so that those who would want to pass
  • 00:08:27.140 --> 00:08:29.180
  • from here to you cannot.
  • 00:08:29.210 --> 00:08:32.070
  • Nor, can those from there pass to us.
  • 00:08:32.100 --> 00:08:34.210
  • Then he said, "I beg you therefore father that you would
  • 00:08:34.240 --> 00:08:36.270
  • send him to my father's house for I have five brothers
  • 00:08:37.000 --> 00:08:40.100
  • that he may testify to them less they also come to this place
  • 00:08:40.130 --> 00:08:44.110
  • of torment." fourth time.
  • 00:08:44.140 --> 00:08:47.040
  • "Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and Prophets
  • 00:08:47.070 --> 00:08:50.080
  • let them hear them.
  • 00:08:50.110 --> 00:08:51.260
  • And he said, 'No, father Abraham, but if one goes to them
  • 00:08:51.290 --> 00:08:54.090
  • from the dead they will repent." but he said to him:
  • 00:08:54.120 --> 00:08:57.120
  • "If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets neither
  • 00:08:57.150 --> 00:09:00.180
  • will they be persuaded the one rise from the dead."
  • 00:09:00.210 --> 00:09:04.170
  • Yeah, I first -- a few things I want to tell you
  • 00:09:04.200 --> 00:09:06.080
  • about this.
  • 00:09:06.110 --> 00:09:07.000
  • Jesus is talking.
  • 00:09:07.030 --> 00:09:08.190
  • And the first thing I want you to know is this ends all
  • 00:09:08.220 --> 00:09:11.000
  • debate on the existence of Hell.
  • 00:09:11.030 --> 00:09:13.030
  • Because Jesus is referring to a specific man and He says
  • 00:09:13.060 --> 00:09:16.110
  • in Verse 23: "In Hell.
  • 00:09:16.140 --> 00:09:18.200
  • In Hell."
  • 00:09:18.230 --> 00:09:19.120
  • He's referring to a person.
  • 00:09:19.150 --> 00:09:20.200
  • And Jesus says, "He's in Hell."
  • 00:09:20.230 --> 00:09:22.200
  • This also ends all debate on whether it's a place of fire.
  • 00:09:22.230 --> 00:09:25.240
  • Because Jesus says, "In this flame."
  • 00:09:25.270 --> 00:09:29.090
  • Now listen to me carefully.
  • 00:09:29.120 --> 00:09:30.130
  • 32 times the New Testament refers to Hell as fire --
  • 00:09:30.160 --> 00:09:34.130
  • a place of fire.
  • 00:09:34.160 --> 00:09:35.160
  • Unquenchable, everlasting, eternal fire.
  • 00:09:35.190 --> 00:09:41.150
  • Lake of, flame of, furnace of, okay.
  • 00:09:41.180 --> 00:09:44.290
  • And 19 times Jesus himself refers to Hell as fire.
  • 00:09:45.020 --> 00:09:49.270
  • And this also ends all debate on whether it's a place
  • 00:09:50.000 --> 00:09:52.210
  • of torment or not because we have the word --
  • 00:09:52.240 --> 00:09:54.110
  • or variation of the word, "Torment" four times.
  • 00:09:54.140 --> 00:09:57.040
  • The Greek word here for torment has three meanings.
  • 00:09:57.070 --> 00:10:00.140
  • It would be like when you look up a word in Webster's
  • 00:10:00.170 --> 00:10:02.120
  • dictionary and it has two or three different meanings.
  • 00:10:02.150 --> 00:10:05.080
  • That's what the Greek word here --
  • 00:10:05.110 --> 00:10:06.170
  • it has three meanings.
  • 00:10:06.200 --> 00:10:07.220
  • The first is acute pain from debilitating disease.
  • 00:10:07.250 --> 00:10:13.010
  • Acute pain from debilitating disease.
  • 00:10:13.040 --> 00:10:16.040
  • The second is actually the name of a -- a rack of torture
  • 00:10:16.070 --> 00:10:20.270
  • that they invented, and they gave it this name --
  • 00:10:21.000 --> 00:10:23.230
  • the name that is translated torment here.
  • 00:10:23.260 --> 00:10:25.250
  • That's what they called it.
  • 00:10:25.280 --> 00:10:27.040
  • It was a rack that had sharp objects that they would stretch
  • 00:10:27.070 --> 00:10:30.090
  • a body on and continue to stretch it around it.
  • 00:10:30.120 --> 00:10:33.060
  • Until eventually the sharp objects would pierce the body
  • 00:10:33.090 --> 00:10:35.220
  • and the person would die from the piercings.
  • 00:10:35.250 --> 00:10:37.280
  • And the third, is describing fire that is hot enough
  • 00:10:38.010 --> 00:10:42.180
  • to melt metals.
  • 00:10:42.210 --> 00:10:45.040
  • So, I want you to understand these three definitions
  • 00:10:45.070 --> 00:10:47.200
  • of this word torture are acute pain, a rack of torture,
  • 00:10:47.230 --> 00:10:52.070
  • and intense fire.
  • 00:10:52.100 --> 00:10:53.220
  • That's the word Jesus used.
  • 00:10:53.250 --> 00:10:54.290
  • So, according to this that Jesus tells us we can discern
  • 00:10:55.020 --> 00:10:59.150
  • a few things about what happens to a person
  • 00:10:59.180 --> 00:11:02.210
  • when he goes to Hell.
  • 00:11:02.240 --> 00:11:04.010
  • So, I want to give you three things that happens to a person
  • 00:11:04.040 --> 00:11:06.210
  • when he goes to Hell.
  • 00:11:06.240 --> 00:11:07.290
  • Here's number one, he desires comfort.
  • 00:11:08.020 --> 00:11:11.010
  • He desires comfort.
  • 00:11:11.040 --> 00:11:12.140
  • Send Lazarus said, "He may dip the tip of his finger
  • 00:11:12.170 --> 00:11:15.080
  • in water.
  • 00:11:15.110 --> 00:11:16.180
  • That I may cool my tongue for I am tormented in this flame."
  • 00:11:16.210 --> 00:11:21.090
  • I want you to notice that he didn't say,
  • 00:11:21.120 --> 00:11:23.030
  • "Could I have a bucket of water?
  • 00:11:23.060 --> 00:11:24.150
  • Or could I have a cup of water?"
  • 00:11:24.180 --> 00:11:26.090
  • And he didn't even say that he might dip his finger.
  • 00:11:26.120 --> 00:11:30.050
  • He said, "That he might dip the tip of his finger in water
  • 00:11:30.080 --> 00:11:34.190
  • and cool my tongue." Remember I told you this a few
  • 00:11:34.220 --> 00:11:37.130
  • weeks ago, but I'm going to actually show you
  • 00:11:37.160 --> 00:11:39.070
  • the scripture, "Hell was not created for you.
  • 00:11:39.100 --> 00:11:42.250
  • Hell was not created for you."
  • 00:11:42.280 --> 00:11:44.120
  • Why I showed you the scripture
  • 00:11:44.150 --> 00:11:46.010
  • of Isaiah 5 that shows us that because man decided to follow
  • 00:11:46.040 --> 00:11:49.200
  • Satan, Hell had to be enlarged.
  • 00:11:49.230 --> 00:11:52.050
  • It was enlarged by necessity.
  • 00:11:52.080 --> 00:11:54.010
  • Not by design.
  • 00:11:54.040 --> 00:11:55.100
  • But notice -- here's the scripture that shows you Hell
  • 00:11:55.130 --> 00:11:57.200
  • was not prepared for you.
  • 00:11:57.230 --> 00:11:59.010
  • Matthew 25:41: "Then you will also say to those
  • 00:11:59.040 --> 00:12:01.280
  • on the left-hand depart from me you cursed into
  • 00:12:02.010 --> 00:12:05.010
  • the everlasting," notice again it's not -- this blows
  • 00:12:05.040 --> 00:12:07.220
  • away Annihilationist theory that it's only a brief time,
  • 00:12:07.250 --> 00:12:10.230
  • "fire," fire, it is fire, "Watched prepared for the Devil
  • 00:12:10.260 --> 00:12:16.060
  • and his angels." And that's Jesus talking.
  • 00:12:16.090 --> 00:12:18.200
  • Okay, "Hell was not prepared for you."
  • 00:12:18.230 --> 00:12:21.070
  • Now I want to make a statement.
  • 00:12:21.100 --> 00:12:22.050
  • I want you to remember this.
  • 00:12:22.080 --> 00:12:23.120
  • Jesus did not prepare Hell for you, but He did prepare
  • 00:12:23.150 --> 00:12:26.280
  • Heaven for you.
  • 00:12:27.010 --> 00:12:29.100
  • John 14, he said, "I'm going to prepare a place for you."
  • 00:12:29.130 --> 00:12:33.230
  • Isn't that a great statement?
  • 00:12:33.260 --> 00:12:34.290
  • He did not prepare Hell for you.
  • 00:12:35.020 --> 00:12:36.170
  • He prepared Heaven for you.
  • 00:12:36.200 --> 00:12:38.030
  • So, number one a man desires comfort.
  • 00:12:38.060 --> 00:12:40.160
  • Number two, he expresses concern.
  • 00:12:40.190 --> 00:12:43.120
  • He immediately says, "Please send him to my brothers.
  • 00:12:43.150 --> 00:12:47.230
  • My father's house.
  • 00:12:47.260 --> 00:12:48.250
  • I have five brothers." Okay, every person will
  • 00:12:48.280 --> 00:12:51.030
  • have this thought at some point.
  • 00:12:51.060 --> 00:12:52.090
  • I hope my kids don't come here.
  • 00:12:52.120 --> 00:12:55.030
  • I hope my spouse doesn't come here.
  • 00:12:55.060 --> 00:12:57.150
  • And they might even have a thought like this.
  • 00:12:57.180 --> 00:12:59.250
  • Maybe, maybe -- and they might bring --
  • 00:12:59.280 --> 00:13:02.240
  • they'll not remember that you go to church.
  • 00:13:02.270 --> 00:13:05.140
  • Or that you're a believer.
  • 00:13:05.170 --> 00:13:06.200
  • And so, they might think, "Well maybe at Christmas
  • 00:13:06.230 --> 00:13:10.220
  • I know Bill is a believer.
  • 00:13:10.250 --> 00:13:12.160
  • I know Mary is a believer.
  • 00:13:12.190 --> 00:13:13.150
  • I know Sue is a believer.
  • 00:13:13.180 --> 00:13:14.210
  • I know Jim is a believer.
  • 00:13:14.240 --> 00:13:16.070
  • Maybe at Christmas Sue will tell my children about
  • 00:13:16.100 --> 00:13:20.200
  • this place."
  • 00:13:20.230 --> 00:13:21.280
  • And then I wonder, I wonder if he will have this thought,
  • 00:13:22.010 --> 00:13:26.120
  • "She probably won't tell my children because
  • 00:13:26.150 --> 00:13:30.040
  • she didn't tell me."
  • 00:13:30.070 --> 00:13:33.120
  • I remember arguments about who I voted for,
  • 00:13:33.150 --> 00:13:37.080
  • but I don't remember her ever telling me that this
  • 00:13:37.110 --> 00:13:39.240
  • was where I would go and that it was easy to avoid this place.
  • 00:13:39.270 --> 00:13:45.250
  • That if I would simply give control of my life to Jesus
  • 00:13:45.280 --> 00:13:48.210
  • Christ I could have avoided this place.
  • 00:13:48.240 --> 00:13:51.050
  • So, every person desires comfort, expresses concern,
  • 00:13:51.080 --> 00:13:56.050
  • and here's number three, he seeks consolation.
  • 00:13:56.080 --> 00:13:59.170
  • He seeks consolation.
  • 00:13:59.200 --> 00:14:00.250
  • Here's what he said -- he tries to tell himself
  • 00:14:00.280 --> 00:14:02.280
  • if someone would go from the dead.
  • 00:14:03.010 --> 00:14:05.180
  • If someone would rise from the dead and tell them maybe
  • 00:14:05.210 --> 00:14:10.120
  • they would believe.
  • 00:14:10.150 --> 00:14:11.130
  • I'm sure they would believe.
  • 00:14:11.160 --> 00:14:12.260
  • Abraham says this, "Listen they have Moses and the Prophets."
  • 00:14:12.290 --> 00:14:16.060
  • Now you need to understand what Moses
  • 00:14:16.090 --> 00:14:17.180
  • and the Prophets means in the Bible.
  • 00:14:17.210 --> 00:14:19.080
  • Moses wrote the first five books of the Old Testament.
  • 00:14:19.110 --> 00:14:21.270
  • The Prophets wrote the other books.
  • 00:14:22.000 --> 00:14:23.190
  • We call them the major and minor Prophets.
  • 00:14:23.220 --> 00:14:25.180
  • It's the way we would divide
  • 00:14:25.210 --> 00:14:27.070
  • the Old Testament theologically.
  • 00:14:27.100 --> 00:14:30.220
  • And understand at this point there's no New Testament.
  • 00:14:30.250 --> 00:14:34.240
  • So, when they say -- when he says, "If they don't believe
  • 00:14:34.270 --> 00:14:37.020
  • Moses on the Prophets," he's referring to the Bible.
  • 00:14:37.050 --> 00:14:39.120
  • He's saying, "If they won't believe the Bible," and listen
  • 00:14:39.150 --> 00:14:41.130
  • to what he says, "If they won't believe the Bible they won't
  • 00:14:41.160 --> 00:14:43.280
  • believe even if one were to rise from the grave."
  • 00:14:44.010 --> 00:14:48.250
  • Listen carefully, Jesus did rise from the grave.
  • 00:14:48.280 --> 00:14:52.080
  • That's a direct reference.
  • 00:14:52.110 --> 00:14:53.270
  • He did rise from the grave.
  • 00:14:54.000 --> 00:14:55.070
  • So, if they don't believe the Bible they wouldn't believe
  • 00:14:55.100 --> 00:14:57.280
  • even if one were to rise from the grave.
  • 00:14:58.010 --> 00:14:59.290
  • And He did.
  • 00:15:00.040 --> 00:15:01.060
  • Now this story is describing Hell before
  • 00:15:01.090 --> 00:15:04.150
  • the resurrection of Christ.
  • 00:15:04.180 --> 00:15:06.110
  • You need to understand that every person that died before
  • 00:15:06.140 --> 00:15:08.180
  • the resurrection of Christ went to a place of "Waiting".
  • 00:15:08.210 --> 00:15:11.210
  • There were two compartments with a chasm between.
  • 00:15:11.240 --> 00:15:15.040
  • One was Hell where people were tormented.
  • 00:15:15.070 --> 00:15:18.250
  • The other though, was Abraham's bosom is what it was called.
  • 00:15:18.280 --> 00:15:21.230
  • It was a place of waiting for Old Testament Saints.
  • 00:15:21.260 --> 00:15:24.210
  • And the Bible says that before Jesus ascended into
  • 00:15:24.240 --> 00:15:27.080
  • Heaven, he descended into the lower parts and led all
  • 00:15:27.110 --> 00:15:30.250
  • of those Old Testament Saints to Paradise.
  • 00:15:30.280 --> 00:15:32.280
  • Remember He said, "Even to the thief today you will
  • 00:15:33.010 --> 00:15:35.090
  • be with me in Paradise."
  • 00:15:35.120 --> 00:15:36.210
  • Okay, so He leads them out of there.
  • 00:15:36.240 --> 00:15:38.280
  • So, this is talking about it before the resurrection
  • 00:15:39.010 --> 00:15:40.200
  • of Christ.
  • 00:15:40.230 --> 00:15:41.250
  • There is also a future Hell after the second coming.
  • 00:15:41.280 --> 00:15:45.250
  • And the Bible tell us some things about future Hell
  • 00:15:45.280 --> 00:15:48.260
  • that you need to understand.
  • 00:15:48.290 --> 00:15:51.050
  • I'm going to tell you some things that will help you
  • 00:15:51.080 --> 00:15:53.070
  • to understand what eternal Hell will be like.
  • 00:15:53.100 --> 00:15:56.110
  • And I'll give you the scripture to prove it to
  • 00:15:56.140 --> 00:15:57.230
  • you, okay.
  • 00:15:57.260 --> 00:15:59.010
  • First of all, there are two physical properties on Earth
  • 00:15:59.040 --> 00:16:03.110
  • that keep us mentally stable.
  • 00:16:03.140 --> 00:16:05.230
  • All right.
  • 00:16:05.260 --> 00:16:06.280
  • Two physical properties that keep us mentally stable.
  • 00:16:07.010 --> 00:16:09.250
  • This a scientific fact.
  • 00:16:09.280 --> 00:16:11.030
  • Light and solid.
  • 00:16:11.060 --> 00:16:12.270
  • Light and solid.
  • 00:16:13.000 --> 00:16:14.080
  • Light helps us to gain our bearings.
  • 00:16:14.110 --> 00:16:16.250
  • If we can just see where we're going, what we're doing.
  • 00:16:16.280 --> 00:16:20.060
  • Even blind people many times can see light and dark because
  • 00:16:20.090 --> 00:16:24.070
  • when the light turns on in the room many times
  • 00:16:24.100 --> 00:16:26.100
  • and keeps them stable.
  • 00:16:26.130 --> 00:16:28.020
  • Please understand that light is not in Hell.
  • 00:16:28.050 --> 00:16:31.220
  • The Bible describes Hell as a place of utter darkness
  • 00:16:31.250 --> 00:16:34.260
  • or outer darkness.
  • 00:16:34.290 --> 00:16:36.030
  • Matthew 8 describes Hell: "Complete total darkness."
  • 00:16:36.060 --> 00:16:39.110
  • As a matter of fact, the Greek word means blackness.
  • 00:16:39.140 --> 00:16:42.180
  • Total darkness.
  • 00:16:42.210 --> 00:16:43.250
  • Please understand you will never -- listen Satan has so
  • 00:16:43.280 --> 00:16:46.020
  • lied that Hell is going to be some big party.
  • 00:16:46.050 --> 00:16:48.080
  • You'll never see anyone.
  • 00:16:48.110 --> 00:16:50.140
  • You will never see another person.
  • 00:16:50.170 --> 00:16:51.290
  • And you'll never talk to them.
  • 00:16:52.020 --> 00:16:53.050
  • The reason he did in this story -- remember this
  • 00:16:53.080 --> 00:16:55.000
  • is before the resurrection.
  • 00:16:55.030 --> 00:16:56.100
  • This is not eternal Hell.
  • 00:16:56.130 --> 00:16:57.230
  • You will never see or talk to any other person.
  • 00:16:57.260 --> 00:17:00.210
  • So, there's no light in Hell.
  • 00:17:00.240 --> 00:17:02.220
  • The reason there's light in Heaven -- Revelation 21 tell us:
  • 00:17:02.250 --> 00:17:06.010
  • "That there's no sun in Heaven", Did you know?
  • 00:17:06.040 --> 00:17:08.080
  • There's no sun because the lamb is the light.
  • 00:17:08.110 --> 00:17:10.220
  • The reason there's no light in Hell is because God takes
  • 00:17:10.250 --> 00:17:13.110
  • His presence from Hell.
  • 00:17:13.140 --> 00:17:14.290
  • So, there's no light.
  • 00:17:15.020 --> 00:17:16.080
  • Here's the second thing, solid, in other words being
  • 00:17:16.110 --> 00:17:18.230
  • able to hold something.
  • 00:17:18.260 --> 00:17:19.290
  • Grab something.
  • 00:17:20.020 --> 00:17:21.000
  • Keeps us mentally stable on this Earth.
  • 00:17:21.030 --> 00:17:23.250
  • Being able to sit down, or walk, or touch something.
  • 00:17:23.280 --> 00:17:26.160
  • Hell is described Revelation 9:11.17.20.
  • 00:17:26.190 --> 00:17:31.220
  • Okay Revelation 9:11.17.20 tell us that:
  • 00:17:31.250 --> 00:17:36.000
  • "Hell is a bottomless pit.
  • 00:17:36.030 --> 00:17:39.130
  • You will never touch anything.
  • 00:17:39.160 --> 00:17:41.210
  • You will never sit down.
  • 00:17:41.240 --> 00:17:43.000
  • You will never stand.
  • 00:17:43.030 --> 00:17:44.110
  • No matter how hard you lunge, you will never be able
  • 00:17:44.140 --> 00:17:47.230
  • to touch anything else."
  • 00:17:47.260 --> 00:17:49.210
  • Those two physical properties are not in Hell.
  • 00:17:49.240 --> 00:17:52.050
  • They keep us mentally stable.
  • 00:17:52.080 --> 00:17:54.070
  • There are two emotional properties that keep us
  • 00:17:54.100 --> 00:17:57.210
  • emotionally stable on this Earth.
  • 00:17:57.240 --> 00:17:59.250
  • Rest and hope.
  • 00:17:59.280 --> 00:18:01.150
  • And I know many of you think rest is a physical property,
  • 00:18:01.180 --> 00:18:04.130
  • which it is, but it's also an emotional property
  • 00:18:04.160 --> 00:18:08.090
  • because rest keeps us emotionally stable.
  • 00:18:08.120 --> 00:18:10.130
  • Think about how grumpy you get when you get tired.
  • 00:18:10.160 --> 00:18:14.170
  • We have a little saying in my house.
  • 00:18:14.200 --> 00:18:15.280
  • My wife will say to me, "You need a nap."
  • 00:18:16.010 --> 00:18:20.140
  • And she says that to her grandkids as well.
  • 00:18:20.170 --> 00:18:22.060
  • And the grandkids and I have to go take a nap.
  • 00:18:22.090 --> 00:18:24.190
  • So -- when we get tired we begin to lose it emotionally.
  • 00:18:24.220 --> 00:18:31.160
  • And think about if you've lost a person close to you.
  • 00:18:31.190 --> 00:18:34.240
  • How tired you are and people around you will say to you,
  • 00:18:34.270 --> 00:18:37.290
  • "You need to get some rest.
  • 00:18:38.020 --> 00:18:39.190
  • You need to get some rest."
  • 00:18:39.220 --> 00:18:41.080
  • And we know on this Earth if we can just rest for sometimes
  • 00:18:41.110 --> 00:18:45.030
  • just a few moments then we can handle what we're
  • 00:18:45.060 --> 00:18:48.110
  • going through emotionally.
  • 00:18:48.140 --> 00:18:50.080
  • Revelations 14:11 says, "On the smoke of their torment
  • 00:18:50.110 --> 00:18:53.230
  • ascends forever and ever and they have no rest.
  • 00:18:53.260 --> 00:18:58.070
  • Day or night."
  • 00:18:58.100 --> 00:18:59.270
  • No rest.
  • 00:19:00.020 --> 00:19:01.080
  • So, there's no rest.
  • 00:19:01.110 --> 00:19:02.130
  • And the second emotionally property that is not
  • 00:19:02.160 --> 00:19:03.280
  • in Hell is hope.
  • 00:19:04.010 --> 00:19:06.200
  • There's no hope.
  • 00:19:06.230 --> 00:19:08.050
  • On this Earth we always have hope that it can get better.
  • 00:19:08.080 --> 00:19:11.220
  • Do you realize that a person who commits suicide is a person
  • 00:19:11.250 --> 00:19:15.220
  • whom Satan has convinced that something is true on Earth
  • 00:19:15.250 --> 00:19:19.200
  • that is actually true in Hell?
  • 00:19:19.230 --> 00:19:22.170
  • He's convinced that person that you have no hope.
  • 00:19:22.200 --> 00:19:24.220
  • And on Earth you always have hope because you're alive
  • 00:19:24.250 --> 00:19:27.060
  • and you can turn to God.
  • 00:19:27.090 --> 00:19:28.230
  • But in Hell there's no hope.
  • 00:19:28.260 --> 00:19:31.000
  • Every person who goes to Hell will at some point have
  • 00:19:31.030 --> 00:19:34.110
  • a thought something like this: "When I have been here
  • 00:19:34.140 --> 00:19:39.080
  • 10.000 centuries I will not have one less second to be
  • 00:19:39.110 --> 00:19:49.260
  • in this place because Hell is forever."
  • 00:19:49.290 --> 00:19:53.290
  • And there's one thing I want to tell you about Hell that comes
  • 00:19:54.020 --> 00:19:57.050
  • directly from Jesus the way He described it.
  • 00:19:57.080 --> 00:19:59.230
  • Jesus used a word to describe Hell that no person
  • 00:19:59.260 --> 00:20:03.000
  • had ever used.
  • 00:20:03.030 --> 00:20:04.190
  • And the Jewish people understood what he was talking about.
  • 00:20:04.220 --> 00:20:07.120
  • He used the "Gehenna".
  • 00:20:07.150 --> 00:20:09.240
  • Gehenna means the valley of Henna.
  • 00:20:09.270 --> 00:20:14.130
  • It is a valley that is south of the old city Jerusalem.
  • 00:20:14.160 --> 00:20:17.070
  • If you are in the King David citadel you can see
  • 00:20:17.100 --> 00:20:20.080
  • the old city and the North, you see two valleys.
  • 00:20:20.110 --> 00:20:25.110
  • The North valley and the South that actually
  • 00:20:25.140 --> 00:20:27.000
  • come together, up at Western side of the city right in front
  • 00:20:27.030 --> 00:20:30.060
  • of the Western wall.
  • 00:20:30.090 --> 00:20:31.290
  • That valley on the Southside of Jerusalem is called Gehenna.
  • 00:20:32.020 --> 00:20:36.130
  • That valley there was always a continual fire in that valley.
  • 00:20:36.160 --> 00:20:41.030
  • They would burn the refuse from the city.
  • 00:20:41.060 --> 00:20:44.150
  • But when they went a drought season when poor people
  • 00:20:44.180 --> 00:20:48.240
  • would die and did not have enough money to be buried
  • 00:20:48.270 --> 00:20:52.120
  • they began burning the bodies of poor people in that valley.
  • 00:20:52.150 --> 00:20:59.140
  • So, you could smell flesh burning.
  • 00:20:59.170 --> 00:21:03.260
  • But there's something else that happened.
  • 00:21:03.290 --> 00:21:05.190
  • When they were taken out of the land -- the captivity
  • 00:21:05.220 --> 00:21:07.160
  • they learned of Babylonian and Chaldean practice
  • 00:21:07.190 --> 00:21:11.270
  • and that was offering their children to the god of Molech.
  • 00:21:12.000 --> 00:21:16.220
  • And we know, the Bible tells us specifically two kings
  • 00:21:16.250 --> 00:21:19.290
  • did this.
  • 00:21:20.020 --> 00:21:20.290
  • Manasseh and Ahab offered their children,
  • 00:21:21.020 --> 00:21:24.130
  • burned their children in the valley of Henna.
  • 00:21:24.160 --> 00:21:29.010
  • And I told you it's a tough message.
  • 00:21:29.040 --> 00:21:30.260
  • What I'm about to tell you is very difficult.
  • 00:21:30.290 --> 00:21:34.280
  • They made their children walk into the fire alive.
  • 00:21:35.010 --> 00:21:40.130
  • And they burned them alive.
  • 00:21:40.160 --> 00:21:42.190
  • Sometimes they even used whips to drive them into the fire.
  • 00:21:42.220 --> 00:21:48.120
  • And Jesus used a phrase that every Jewish person
  • 00:21:48.150 --> 00:21:51.190
  • understood describing Hell.
  • 00:21:51.220 --> 00:21:55.200
  • He said, "It is like Gahenna.
  • 00:21:55.230 --> 00:21:59.010
  • Where there is," -- and you've heard this phrase,
  • 00:21:59.040 --> 00:22:00.280
  • which you might not know where it came from,
  • 00:22:01.010 --> 00:22:03.080
  • "Where there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth."
  • 00:22:03.110 --> 00:22:10.270
  • These young boys and girls would be so afraid and in so much pain
  • 00:22:11.000 --> 00:22:18.190
  • they would weep and wail and gnash their teeth
  • 00:22:18.220 --> 00:22:23.020
  • together while they were burned alive.
  • 00:22:23.050 --> 00:22:27.150
  • And Jesus said, "I'm trying to tell you the best I can
  • 00:22:27.180 --> 00:22:33.250
  • about this place, so you don't go there.
  • 00:22:33.280 --> 00:22:39.210
  • Now I want to give you a ludicrous illustration.
  • 00:22:39.240 --> 00:22:43.100
  • It's ludicrous.
  • 00:22:43.130 --> 00:22:45.180
  • If you were to drive home today and your neighbors
  • 00:22:45.210 --> 00:22:48.150
  • house was on fire, what would you do?
  • 00:22:48.180 --> 00:22:52.110
  • We'd all do the same thing.
  • 00:22:52.140 --> 00:22:54.100
  • We would immediately call 911.
  • 00:22:54.130 --> 00:22:57.110
  • And if it were safe to do so we would enter the house
  • 00:22:57.140 --> 00:23:01.050
  • to try to see if anyone was still in the house.
  • 00:23:01.080 --> 00:23:04.070
  • The reason I said this is ludicrous is none of you
  • 00:23:04.100 --> 00:23:08.030
  • would see your neighbors house on fire and pull into
  • 00:23:08.060 --> 00:23:11.140
  • your garage and have the thought,
  • 00:23:11.170 --> 00:23:13.170
  • "Someone else will tell them."
  • 00:23:13.200 --> 00:23:17.000
  • Someone will tell them."
  • 00:23:17.030 --> 00:23:19.030
  • And even this thought maybe.
  • 00:23:19.060 --> 00:23:20.240
  • And I don't mean this in a joking way, but listen we
  • 00:23:20.270 --> 00:23:24.020
  • wouldn't have the thought, "Oh, I'll just pray for them."
  • 00:23:24.050 --> 00:23:26.150
  • And I believe in prayer.
  • 00:23:26.180 --> 00:23:28.030
  • I believe in prayer.
  • 00:23:28.060 --> 00:23:29.070
  • That's the first step when it comes to witnessing
  • 00:23:29.100 --> 00:23:30.190
  • is praying.
  • 00:23:30.220 --> 00:23:32.030
  • But the second step is that you got to tell them.
  • 00:23:32.060 --> 00:23:35.030
  • You know, Romans 10 says, "Whoever calls on the name
  • 00:23:35.060 --> 00:23:37.080
  • of the Lord will be saved." But how can they call on Him
  • 00:23:37.110 --> 00:23:40.070
  • whom they've not heard?
  • 00:23:40.100 --> 00:23:41.130
  • And how can they hear unless someone tells them?
  • 00:23:41.160 --> 00:23:44.030
  • We have to tell them.
  • 00:23:44.060 --> 00:23:45.280
  • So, hear me.
  • 00:23:46.010 --> 00:23:47.260
  • Your neighbors house is not on fire, but your neighbor is.
  • 00:23:47.290 --> 00:23:55.080
  • If he doesn't know the Lord according to the Bible,
  • 00:23:55.110 --> 00:23:59.210
  • he will go to a place of fire and a place of torment
  • 00:23:59.240 --> 00:24:04.170
  • for all eternity.
  • 00:24:04.200 --> 00:24:07.010
  • PASTOR ROBERT: I know that this is a very difficult
  • 00:24:07.040 --> 00:24:08.210
  • subject to talk about, but I want to remind you
  • 00:24:08.240 --> 00:24:11.180
  • that God did not create Hell for human beings.
  • 00:24:11.210 --> 00:24:15.290
  • He created Hell for angels that rebelled against Him.
  • 00:24:16.020 --> 00:24:20.040
  • And yet because of the choices that we've made we could
  • 00:24:20.070 --> 00:24:23.270
  • be on our way to Hell.
  • 00:24:24.000 --> 00:24:25.100
  • But here's the good news because of a choice
  • 00:24:25.130 --> 00:24:28.110
  • that we can make we can be on our way to Heaven.
  • 00:24:28.140 --> 00:24:31.220
  • You do not have to go to Hell.
  • 00:24:31.250 --> 00:24:33.180
  • You can go to Heaven by simply accepting Jesus Christ
  • 00:24:33.210 --> 00:24:38.180
  • as your Lord and Savior.
  • 00:24:38.210 --> 00:24:40.240
  • Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins.
  • 00:24:40.270 --> 00:24:43.270
  • We could never pay for our own sins and yet he did that.
  • 00:24:44.000 --> 00:24:47.130
  • And it is a free gift.
  • 00:24:47.160 --> 00:24:49.080
  • Salvation is a free gift from God.
  • 00:24:49.110 --> 00:24:52.120
  • And you could receive Jesus Christ right now.
  • 00:24:52.150 --> 00:24:55.200
  • Just tell him right now while I'm talking.
  • 00:24:55.230 --> 00:24:57.120
  • Tell him, "Jesus I receive you as my Lord and my Savior."
  • 00:24:57.150 --> 00:25:02.120
  • And if you did that we would love to hear from you.
  • 00:25:02.150 --> 00:25:05.210
  • And we would love to send you some material that will help
  • 00:25:05.240 --> 00:25:08.180
  • you in your new life with Jesus Christ
  • 00:25:08.210 --> 00:25:11.270
  • as your Lord and your Savior.
  • 00:25:12.000 --> 00:25:14.280
  • Thanks for watching.
  • 00:25:15.010 --> 00:25:16.090
  • I'll see you next time.
  • 00:25:16.120 --> 00:25:17.080
  • ANNOUNCER: We're so glad that you joined us
  • 00:25:18.060 --> 00:25:19.060
  • for today's program, and we hope that you enjoyed
  • 00:25:19.090 --> 00:25:21.170
  • this important and timely message from Pastor Robert.
  • 00:25:21.200 --> 00:25:25.030
  • The afterlife is mysterious, and can often be scary
  • 00:25:25.060 --> 00:25:28.080
  • and overwhelming to think about.
  • 00:25:28.110 --> 00:25:30.020
  • Just the thought of it raises question after question.
  • 00:25:30.050 --> 00:25:32.290
  • What's Heaven like?
  • 00:25:33.020 --> 00:25:34.060
  • Is there a literal Hell?
  • 00:25:34.090 --> 00:25:35.200
  • Is there a judgement?
  • 00:25:35.230 --> 00:25:36.290
  • What about the second coming?
  • 00:25:37.020 --> 00:25:38.160
  • How can you know for sure?
  • 00:25:38.190 --> 00:25:40.220
  • In this five-part series, "The End: What Happens Next"
  • 00:25:40.250 --> 00:25:44.010

  • and so many more so that you can begin living a life

  • that truly matters.
  • 00:25:49.000 --> 00:25:50.100
  • Because, ultimately, what you believe about death and eternity
  • 00:25:50.130 --> 00:25:53.090
  • will determine how you live.
  • 00:25:53.120 --> 00:25:55.020
  • So don't live another day without knowing the comforting
  • 00:25:55.050 --> 00:25:57.180
