There is Victory in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“He is Risen.” If you look up the word hope in the dictionary, you will not find these three words. But they encapsulate the meaning of the word hope and then some. These three words define hope beyond hope. Hope times infinity. He is Risen is the Hope we have for our generation and beyond.
When Jesus rose, He altered the course of humanity forever. He gave us a U-turn back to the Garden of Eden, back to when humanity had not yet sinned, back to complete communion with God.
We see in 1 Corinthians 15 the tremendous hope upon which our faith is founded on. Our hope is embedded in this truth that Jesus rose from the grave and Christians will one day be physically reunited with Him.
For some, reading this chapter might bring up memories of loved ones in the faith who have gone on to be with Jesus. If that’s you, we pray that God may use these words to bind up wounds that you’ve experienced through loss.
As verses 55-57 says, “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Your loved ones in the faith are resting in victory. And through your faith in Jesus, you will too.
He is Risen. Happy Easter!
