God Supports the Land of His Promise.
This is the strong, simple message of how Israel connects with the modern-day church, says Pastor Mike Hayes.
Now, you’d think that would be an easy message to preach, but for an American pastor like Mike Hayes, that message doesn’t always resonate with the people he’s speaking to. This continual pushback forced Pastor Hayes to go deeper, to dig and discover in what way Israel is important to modern day Christians...and this is what he discovered:
God continues to bless Israel because He made a covenant with them (Joshua 21:45), and he keeps blessing Israel no matter what she does or doesn’t do.
In a parallel way, God has promised many things to us as believers. And despite the ways in which we all fall short of perfection, God continually renews and keeps His promise to always love us and never abandon us. This strong truth is related to the renewal that takes place in scriptures such as Lamentations 3:22-23 and Philippians 1:6.
It is with this steadfastness in mind that Pastor Hayes calls out this powerful truth, “When God showed me that He makes [a] covenant to a place and keeps it forever...it settle[d] any questions I ever had about whether He’d give up on me.” Amen!
