Martin the Cobbler
Martin finds peace by learning to think of others beside himself. Martin is in despair and angry with God due to the death of his son and wife years earlier, in a dream he is told that the Lord will visit him and look for Him outside. Martin meets a number of people in need and in helping others he finds peace and the Lord working through him. (Hungry, thirsty, stranger- Mat 25:34-46) Leo Tolstoy’s daughter, Alexandra, narrates Vinton’s adaptation of “Where Love Is God Is,” which concerns the lonely old cobbler who finds peace by learning to think of others.
